Blog 2 Review

I think our group did a fantastic job on our presentations. Chapter 8 was a very interesting chapter to work with and our topics were discussed with much detail. Interpersonal Communication is made of many different aspects, and touching upon all of them can be quite complicated, but getting the general message is what matters. Things like knowing how you communicate with someone, know what you communicate and why are you communicating said thing. Sometimes we have problems we must discuss with our loved ones, having problems is a crucial part of a relationship, there is no such thing as a “perfect relationship”, romantic or not. People that truly love and value each other’s company should not be scared to open up to each other about how they feel, without being condescending or insulting of someone else’s feelings. Many relationships do not understand how to handle problems and simply narrow it down to “It’s your fault”, putting all the pressure on one person, which is a condemnation ...

Presentation 2

This is the second blog, this time i will be writing about our latest presentations as a class, as well as my thoughts and experiences about it, due to complications we had to present first again but i think every group did an incredible job and had the courage to speak to an entire class. The main theme of the presentation was the chapters of the book. Group 1.  Chapter 6 discussed the different types of listening and when each is appropriate to use. These types include active listening, critical listening, empathetic listening, and selective listening. Active listening involves fully concentrating, understanding, and responding to the speaker, often used in important conversations where understanding is key. Critical listening is used when analyzing or evaluating the content of the message, often in situations that require decision-making or problem-solving. Empathetic listening is used when providing emotional support, focusing on understanding the speaker's feelings and ...

Second Presentation Review

03/15/2025 Alejandro Rodriguez      Like the first presentation, I consider that all three groups did a great job on this second presentation. Group I, which is my group, covered chapters 1, 2, 7, and 8, and the theme of our presentation was Mental Health and Education. Chapters 5, 15, 16, and 17 were done by Group II, and their theme was Social Life and Family. The final group was Group III, and their presentation theme was Economy and Potential Careers. In my opinion, all groups showed great knowledge of their topic.      Group number 1's chapters were all about communication and the perception of ourselves and others. Chapter 1 defined what communication is and how we communicate with others. In this chapter, we learned the essence of communication. First, communication for humans is based on the messages we create and receive. The interpretation of messages in communication depends not only on the message but also on the context. The i...

Presentation # 2

Reflection on Class Presentations Throughout this class, we had the opportunity to engage with three group presentations, each focusing on different but equally important aspects of society. Group 1, which included my team, covered the topic of Mental Health and Education. Group 2 focused on Family and Social Life, while Group 3 explored Economy and Future Careers. Each presentation brought valuable insights and perspectives, and it was interesting to see how different teams approached their topics. While there were strong points in all the presentations, there were also aspects that stood out to me as areas that could enhance the overall experience. Being part of Group 1, I felt very connected to our topic. We aimed to highlight how mental health plays a critical role in educational success, the importance of accessible resources, and the role of educators in fostering a supportive environment. Our slides were well-organized, striking a good balance between text and visuals, which hel...

Presentation Reflection #2

We all were given the chance to give presentations. I enjoyed the experience and watching everyone give their presentations. Everyone seems to be knowledgeable about their part of the presentation, no one seemed to be lost and not know what they were talking about. Seeing all the slides made it clear that everyone put in effort into the presentations. A small little detail that I enjoyed was the fact that in my groups presentation, when I was working on my part I noticed that everyone had their own background color on their own slides. I thought it was just a small cool little detail that I noticed. Also, I did try to make my slides a little more decorative by adding color to each of my slide and be a little more creative when it came to making my own slides and I did say in my last blog that I would try to be more creative with my slides. One of the things I enjoyed was how visually appealing the slides were. There were a lot of pictures on each slide of each group it defi...

Blog #2

Cindy Melian 3/13/25 Blog #2    This semester, we had the chance to give and watch presentations, and I have to say, I really enjoyed the experience overall. Although I couldn’t attend the first two group presentations because of a family emergency, I was able to see the others, and I was really impressed by what I saw. It was clear that everyone had put a lot of effort into preparing, and the presentations went well because of it. One of the things I liked most was how confident everyone seemed when presenting. No one appeared lost or unsure of their topic. I’ve been in situations before where some group members weren’t fully prepared, but that wasn’t the case here. Everyone knew their material, and it made the presentations much more enjoyable to watch. It was easy to follow along, and I felt like I was learning something from each group. Another thing that stood out to me was the creativity in the slides. I could tell that a lot of thought went into making them look interes...

Presentations Review 2

Our second presentation provided unexpected twists and excellent lessons. Our group was once again tasked with presenting first, owing to the absence of a few coworkers. This wasn't altogether new to us; we had previously taken the lead with the first presentation, which established the tone for the rest of the class. However, this time something felt different. Our presentation was significantly longer than expected due to the depth of our research, the volume of content we gathered, and the overall scope of the project. In fact, it lasted two class periods, which caught me off guard. While it wasn't planned, it felt like we were once again setting a good example. One of the most impressive aspects of our group's performance was how well we split our parts and sections. We knew who would handle what right away, ensuring that each team member had a clear job and duty. In comparison to our initial presentation, we had considerably more information to work with this time, w...
